Seasonal jobs for Brazilians: step by step to get a job in the US

Getting a seasonal job in the US as a Brazilian is possible without paying intermediaries, but it takes organization: finding a real job, applying in English, waiting for the employer's decision and completing the visa process. This is the short path.

Step by step

In six steps:

  • Find active jobs by state, occupation and start month and note the case number.
  • Build a short English résumé, focused on practical experience.
  • Send a to-the-point email to the contact given in the job order.
  • Track replies and answer quickly; employers receive many applicants.
  • If there is an offer, follow the visa process at the American consulate.
  • Confirm dates, housing and transport before buying tickets.

Documents and preparation

Have a valid passport, an English résumé and, when possible, references from previous jobs. Having basic English for email and the interview makes a difference.

How to avoid scams

Be wary of charges for a job, guaranteed hiring, a guaranteed visa and a missing case number. The H-2A does not allow charging recruitment fees to the worker.
