How to read the result

H-2A pay varies by state and by job. The employer must pay at least the highest of the AEWR, the applicable prevailing wage and the federal, state or local minimum wage. Read the guide how much an H-2A worker earns to understand the AEWR, piece rate, the three-fourths guarantee and deductions.

About the calculator.

How does the calculator estimate my pay?

It multiplies the hourly rate by the weekly hours to get the gross amount, subtracts the estimated tax and the weekly deductions and multiplies by the contract weeks. The result in reais uses the exchange rate you enter.

Where do I find the job's hourly rate?

In the pay field (basic rate) of the job order. On H2A Works, it appears on each job's page. If pay is by piece rate, use the expected hourly average.

Is there overtime on the H-2A?

Most agricultural workers are exempt from the federal overtime rule. That is why the calculator does not add any premium; check what your job order and state law say.

Is the result guaranteed?

No. It is a simulation. Actual pay depends on the hours actually worked, the permitted deductions and tax withholdings.
