Valid passport
Check the expiry date: it must cover the whole trip and the period required by the consulate.
English résumé
One page, with practical experience (harvesting, cattle, machinery) and clear dates.

About the documents.
Do I have to pay to get an H-2A job?
No. Employers and their agents may not charge workers recruitment or certification fees. Be wary of anyone who sells jobs or promises guaranteed hiring.
Does this checklist replace the consulate's official list?
No. It is an organizing guide. The consulate may ask for additional documents, so always confirm the current list on the official sites of the Department of State and the consulate.
When should I start gathering the documents?
Before applying: a valid passport and an English résumé need to be ready. You gather the rest when there is an offer.
