Duties and description
- Plant, cultivate, and harvest a variety of vegetables according to employer specifications.
- Prepare fields for planting, including tilling, mulching, staking, and laying irrigation lines.
- Hand weed, thin, prune, and hoe crops as needed.
- Pick, sort, grade, pack, and load produce for storage or shipment.
- Operate and maintain basic farm equipment and tools used in crop production.
- Apply fertilizers and assist with irrigation activities under supervisor direction.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, packing facilities, and equipment.
- Assist with crop protection activities, such as covering crops and monitoring field conditions.
- Load and unload harvested produce and agricultural supplies.
- Follow all food safety, worker safety, and employer policies and procedures.
- Perform general farm labor related to the production of mixed vegetables, and other produce.
