Duties and description

Original English description
  • Job requires the operation of various farm equipment to till soil and plant, irrigate, fertilize, spray, cultivate, and harvest crops. Job also requires participating in irrigation activities including setting up and operating irrigation equipment, clearing and maintaining irrigation ditches, operating well motors, operating and maintaining pivots, draining excess water from fields, and monitoring fields to check on and maintain adequate water supply to crops; loading seed into planters; rouging fields and using hand tools to remove undesirable plant varieties, trash, and other objects from fields; performing general maintenance, repairs and/or clean-up of storage sheds, pivot points, buildings, and all farm equipment; ensuring operational areas are organized and well maintained; using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean and maintain farm vehicles, machinery and specialized machinery and agricultural equipment; and regularly servicing equipment. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.

Must have basic English literacy skills. Must have or be able to obtain drivers license within 30 days after hire. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Drug screening may be done post hire at the employer's expense to ensure safety on and around the worksite and to the public when operating equipment on public roads.
