Duties and description

Original English description
  • Temporary farmworkers needed for crawfish season. Job duties include: daily upkeep along with repairs and maintenance of farm equipment, shops, barns, levees, and roads; mow grass, rake, dig ditches, and remove debris, trash, brush, and weeds, etc.; use of hand tools (shovels, sprayer, hoses, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, knives, etc.); harvest crawfish, prepare ponds, maintain water levels, walk levees, and repair as needed; build and repair crawfish traps; manually cut up crawfish bait, set, bait, check, and re-bait crawfish traps, which involves frequent stooping and lifting of traps from ponds; operate push and motorized crawfish boats; grade, wash, and sack crawfish for shipment; load and unload trucks. Operate and maintain farm equipment such as tractors, plows, levels, mowers, etc. Perform extensive physical activities using repetitive body movements for long periods of time, including: climbing, lifting up to 70lbs., balance, walk, bend, stretch, twist, kneel, push, pull, and handle materials. Possible contact with snakes, alligators, insects, frogs, etc. Exposure to extreme temperatures, including extreme heat, cold, and rain. Pre-employment drug screening not required; however, Employer reserves the right to random drug screening upon hire (paid for by Employer), in which testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination. Overtime hours may be available and hours may vary due to unforeseen mechanical problems, severe weather conditions, decreasing or depleting crop availability, or causing early completion of harvesting season. Bonuses may be issued based on performance at the discretion of Employer.
  • Se necesitan trabajadores agrícolas temporales para la temporada de cangrejos de río. Operar y mantener equipos agrícolas como tractores, arados, niveles, cortadoras de césped, etc. Realice actividades físicas extensas utilizando movimientos corporales repetitivos durante largos períodos de tiempo, que incluyen: escalar, levantar hasta 70 libras, equilibrar, caminar, doblarse, estirarse, girarse, arrodillarse, empujar, tirar y manipular materiales. Posible contacto con serpientes, caimanes, insectos, ranas, etc. Exposición a temperaturas extremas, incluyendo calor, frío y lluvia extremos. No se requiere una prueba de detección de drogas previa al empleo; sin embargo, el Empleador se reserva el derecho de realizar pruebas aleatorias de detección de drogas al momento de la contratación (pagadas por el Empleador), en las que la prueba positiva o el incumplimiento pueden resultar en el despido inmediato.
