Duties and description
- Feed and water sheep and lambs and monitor food and water supplies. Examine animals to
- detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight
- gain. Maintain heated watering system. Clean stalls, pens, and equipment, using disinfectant
- solutions, brushes, shovels, water hoses, or pumps. Mix feed, additives, and medicines in
- prescribed portions. Maintain growth, feeding, production, and cost records. Groom, clip, trim,
- or castrate dock ears and tails, or shear coats to collect hair. Operate snow removal equipment
- in order to operate feed wagons. Remove ice formed in water. May have to drive to town to
- pickup supplies.
- Effective 02/21/2025 per Michigan State Statute, employees will earn one hour of paid sick
- time for every 30 hours worked. Businesses with 10 or more employees must allow at least 72
- hours of paid sick leave and those with fewer than 10 employees must allow at least 40 hours
- of paid sick leave and 32 hours of unpaid sick leave.
