Duties and description

Original English description
  • Job duties include attend to cattle; feed cattle; sort cattle; repair/maintain barn, corrals, equipment, farm, fences, fields, pastures, roads, shed, shop and water troughs; work cattle during calving season; maintain ranch property; clean all equipment; tractor/equipment driving; water maintenance; cut grass; bale hay; harvest, dry, sort, and store pecans. In November and December, job duties for pecan harvesting include preparing the orchard to processing the harvested nuts; tree shaking, sweeping, and picking up pecans, as well as general orchard maintenance like pruning and pest control; operate various harvesting equipment and may be involved in grading, sanitizing, and packing the pecans. Job involves frequent stooping and exposure to extreme temperatures. Workers must be able to lift and carry sufficient weight to lift, carry and move equipment and material necessary to complete assigned tasks.  The Employer will rely on workers’ own representations and observations of workers to assess if the workers meet this qualification. Three months previous experience required. Work schedule includes one hour unpaid lunch.
  • Las tareas laborales incluyen atender al ganado; alimentar al ganado; clasificar al ganado; reparar/mantener graneros, corrales, equipos, granjas, cercas, campos, pastos, caminos, cobertizos, tiendas y abrevaderos; trabajar al ganado durante la temporada de partos; mantener la propiedad del rancho; limpiar todo el equipo; conducción de tractores/equipos; mantenimiento del agua; cortar el césped; fardo de heno; cosechar, secar, clasificar y almacenar nueces pecanas. En noviembre y diciembre, las tareas laborales para la recolección de nueces incluyen preparar el huerto para procesar las nueces cosechadas; sacudir, barrer y recoger las nueces de los árboles, así como el mantenimiento general del huerto, como la poda y el control de plagas; operar varios equipos de cosecha y puede participar en la clasificación, desinfección y envasado de las nueces. El trabajo implica agacharse con frecuencia y exponerse a temperaturas extremas. Los trabajadores deben poder levantar y transportar peso suficiente para levantar, transportar y mover el equipo y el material necesarios para completar las tareas asignadas.  El Empleador se basará en las propias representaciones y observaciones de los trabajadores’ para evaluar si los trabajadores cumplen con esta calificación. Se requieren tres meses de experiencia previa. El horario de trabajo incluye una hora de almuerzo no remunerado.
