Duties and description

Original English description
  • Job requires tending to livestock in the forms of feeding, examining, checking, herding, calving cows and bred heifers, occasionally lifting and carrying newborn calves, and weaning calves from cows; seeding and harvesting crops; operating various equipment including, but not limited to, tractors, feed wagons, payloader, tractor loader, and skidsteer. Performing general maintenance, repairs and/or clean-up of storage sheds, buildings, pastures, and all farm equipment; ensuring operational areas are organized and well maintained; using hand tools and equipment to repair, clean and maintain farm vehicles, machinery and specialized machinery and agricultural equipment; regularly servicing equipment; shoveling grain and feet bunks, and sweeping floors. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.

Job requires having or being able to obtain a drivers license within 30 days of hire. Basic English literacy and math skills are required. Job will require periods when workers may be exposed to varying weather conditions.
