Job interview in English: common questions and the STAR method
Get ready for a job interview in English: the most common questions, how to answer with the STAR method, how to talk about your visa honestly and how to practice.

A good job interview in English depends more on preparation than on perfect fluency. Employers want to understand what you have done, how you think and whether you can work well with the team. Practicing short, clear answers makes a big difference.
Quick answer: prepare 5 or 6 real stories from your experience and tell each one with the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). Practice out loud, be honest about your visa and ask for a repeat if you do not understand a question.
The STAR method
For behavioral questions ("Tell me about a time when..."), structure your answer like this:
- Situation: the context, in one sentence.
- Task: what your responsibility was.
- Action: what you did, in the first person.
- Result: what happened, preferably with numbers.
Short example: "On a farm, we had a late frost (Situation). I was in charge of protecting the crop (Task). I organized the team and covered the rows before night (Action). We saved most of the harvest (Result)."
