Duties and description

Original English description
  • Grade and sort products according to factors such as color, species, length, width, appearance, feel, smell, and quality to ensure correct processing and usage. Operate and monitor grain conditioning equipment to ensure efficient and safe conditioning of grain to meet quality standards. Load hoppers to feed machines with products, using forklifts, suction gates, shovels, pitchforks and other equipment. Weigh crop-filled containers, and record weights and other identifying information. Place products in containers according to grade. Weigh products or estimate their weight, visually or by feel. Discard inferior or defective products or foreign matter, and place acceptable products in containers for further processing. Guide products to regulate flow through machines, and to discard diseased or rotten products. monitor and report grain moisture and grades. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including cleaning conditioning equipment, storage areas, and surrounding facilities. Operate machines that and clean rice to separate foreign materials, bag rice into 50lb sacks and prepare for shipping. Adhere to all safety protocols and
  • procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and the team. Load semi-trucks with hopper bottom trailers without over or underfilling trailers; drive and deliver grain to employers rice facility using semi-trucks. Operate fans and other equipment to condition grain and control moisture levels. Assist in the management and preservation of wildlife habitat on the farm during the migration of waterfowl and deer such as: maintaining wire; removing debris; servicing wetlands; controlling weed pressure; inspect
  • and record wildlife population; maintain adequate levels in ponds and wetland reserve program; Perform manual labor necessary to develop, maintain, or protect areas such as forested areas, woodlands. Must speak and understand English.

Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
