Duties and description

  • The employer is seeking reliable, responsible, hardworking individuals. Supervisor / Agricultural Bus Driver will pick up workers from employer-provided housing, take them to the worksites, supervise workers, and drive them back to their housing. They will also conduct simple daily vehicle maintenance checks (DOT pre-trip inspections), timekeeping, and ensuring field sanitation measures are maintained throughout the day. Supervision duties include demonstrating to field workers how to perform the different tasks properly and providing daily instruction to workers. Other duties may include loading/unloading strawberries, installation-maintenance and hooking up drip irrigation, pruning, scanning, cutting/trimming, weeding, pulling plastic/drip-tape, and general farm labor. Supervisors are required to live in the housing provided by the employer and provide supervision in the housing to ensure rules are followed. They will take workers once a week to the grocery store and to the laundromat. This job will be done under varying outdoor extreme weather conditions such as heat, direct sunlight, cold weather, possible rain, wind, and exposure to pollen. Repetitive physical conditions such as prolonged walking, standing, heavy bending, stooping, reaching and lifting will be involved on a regular basis. Must have or be able to obtain immediately a federal and state farm labor contractor license. Background check and random drug testing will be post-hire at employer's expense.

Supervisor must be dependable and punctual and have the ability to stand, bend, and work for long periods outdoors. They must pay close attention to detail and quality and must adhere to all safety rules and practice safety in all aspects of work. (Job specific qualifications in Addendum C.)
