Duties and description

Original English description
  • Operate stationary equipment such as dryer, cleaner, gin stand, linter to perform post-harvest tasks such as ginning; operate scales and record weights and other identifying information including weight of bale and seed; manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery; drive truck to haul crop to and from gin storage and fields; load and unload materials and commodities; guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines; observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions; adjust, repair, and service machinery such as truck, fork lift, tractor and notify supervisors of malfunctions; drive pickup to obtain parts and supplies; daily upkeep and cleaning of equipment while ginning; during times of peak need and depending on weather or crop conditions, hours requested may increase; work at night may be requested; employer may request but cannot require workers to work on their Sabbath.

Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
