Maple Tree Farm Laborer

Seasonal, full-time, job in a remote area of northern Maine performing duties related to harvesting maple sap and to the preparation of new crops of trees and farmland for the harvesting of maple sap. All tools and equipment necessary to the work will be provided by the farm owner. Workers will install, replace, maintain tubing systems, tap maple trees, evaluate the health of sugar maples for potential sap production and monitor sap flow level in tubing. Workers will use tools and equipment to gain access to new crops of trees, to facilitate the installation of tubing systems in new production areas, pull taps at the end of the season and clean equipment. This is outdoor work performed in part during harsh winter temperatures and conditions and includes extensive walking and frequent stooping.
