• Job requires workers to perform grain storage, handling, and shipment activities following the completion of the employer's crop-production season. Duties include receiving and inspecting harvested grain for moisture and grade quality; operating scales and preparing scale tickets; transferring grain into storage bins using augers, conveyors, elevators, and related grain-handling equipment; and moving grain from storage to truck-loading areas for shipment. Workers will manually shovel grain when necessary during bin clean-outs and other grain-handling operations.
• Workers will maintain clean and safe grain-storage, loading, and facility areas and perform routine cleaning, inspection, lubrication, adjustments, and minor repairs of grain bins, augers, conveyors, elevators, dryers, and other grain-handling equipment. Workers may operate non-CDL farm trucks to move grain and grain-handling materials between designated storage and loading areas on the employer's property and may operate equipment necessary to support grain-storage operations. Workers may also climb grain legs, ladders, and other elevated equipment to inspect or maintain grain-handling systems.
• Daily duties may vary depending on grain deliveries, storage conditions, shipment schedules, weather, and facility needs. The duties of this position are primarily limited to post-harvest grain storage, handling, and shipment operations and are separate from the field preparation, planting, cultivation, and harvesting activities performed during the spring crop-production season. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
