We have cattle that will need to be cared for from December to May. Cattle will be shipped to us in December. Before they arrive, pens will need to be prepared. Upon cattle arriving they will need to be processed. Processing includes tagging, branding, and doctoring. Anticipating our average freeze in October, we will prepare to begin to rotate cattle to be grazed in temporary fenced areas. These cattle will need to be provided feed and water daily. Employees will complete all cattle care as assigned, and some general farm duties. This routine will continue throughout the winter months of October through April. In April cows will be sold or shipped to market and will require sorting, counting, loading, and occasional weighing of cattle shipments. As this is a seasonal order of activity, we only need seasonal assistance during the very labor-intensive cattle raising season. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer. Workers returning for a consecutive season will be paid at the previous season’s rate if that rate exceeds the current published rate.
