Cattle and Maintenance Assistant

Attend to live cattle produced for sale for beef consumption, to include facility maintenance and cattle management. Facility maintenance duties include pen maintenance, such as cleaning and repairing, replacing fencing, and adjusting pens in the facility to be more usable; Repairing and maintaining operational equipment; Ensuring proper water system maintenance for cattle, including maintenance of water lines, cleaning water tanks, water system upgrades, and water quality monitoring. Cattle management duties include feeding hay and pellets and ensuring proper amounts of feed are administered; Watering, to include monitoring water intake and ensuring good supplies are available; Cattle handling such as herding, sorting and penning, loading and unloading, transferring from one area to another, maintaining general records on animals; Examining animals to detect diseases and injuries; Assisting with sales day handling and transportation of cattle for sale; Developing more efficient and safe systems to perform the above duties.
