Attend to live farm animals including cattle. Duties may include feeding, watering, herding, grazing, milking, castrating, branding, weighing, catching, and loading animals. May maintain records on animals; examine animals to detect diseases and injuries; assist in birth deliveries; and administer medications, vaccinations, or insecticides as appropriate. May clean and maintain animal housing areas. May drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to distribute feed to animals. Participate in harvest corn and soybeans.
The work day may begin / end earlier or later on any given day and evening. Typical workweek is Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m., with potential nights and Sundays required depending on the animals and weather.
