Agricultural Equipment Operator/Truck Driver

Job duties include operating a semi-truck and hauling grain with a grain trailer from the field to on-farm bins and from bins to the elevator. The employee will also operate a tanker to haul soil amendment products for the farm’s own use. Assistance is not required during the off-months, as the operation is not busy enough to keep hired workers consistently engaged. Responsibilities include operating tractors and other farm equipment, ensuring all load-related documentation is complete and accurate, and checking that vehicles are equipped with properly functioning mechanical, safety, and emergency systems. The job also involves coupling and uncoupling trailers, adjusting trailer landing gear, and ensuring secure connections for air and electrical lines. Drivers must comply with state regulations by stopping at weigh stations before and after loading, and maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions as directed. They are expected to maintain driving logs and vehicle maintenance records, operate onboard communication and GPS systems, perform basic vehicle maintenance and minor repairs, plan or adjust routes to improve efficiency, and report any vehicle defects, accidents, or traffic violations. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion.
