Workers must be able to: prepare fields for irrigation by sprinkler or drip delivery system; set up and move irrigation pipes and equipment; perform scheduled irrigation of the fields; assist with seeding activities; operate farm equipment; assist in planting and cultivation activities; weed and hoe crops, (weeding will be done by hoe, not hand, and with a long-handled hoe); assist with harvest activities; perform farmwork incidental to farming the crop(s) listed on this application; and other tasks and duties under SOC Code 45-2092. Related duties may be assigned. All tasks herein constitute one job. Work is performed outdoors in highly varied weather conditions. Frequent walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and kneeling is required. Being on one’s feet for long periods of time is required. Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 pounds is required. Dexterity to use and manipulate hand tools, farm equipment, and crops is required. Vision, focus, and cognitive ability to accomplish the functions above is required.
