We farm 1,000 acres of pecans in southwest Georgia, which is primarily in Mitchell County. We need experienced tractor operators who can run various implements and farm equipment. Most of our tractors have cabs on them. The primary implements we use are, mowers, sprayers, sweepers, and harvesters. We also use pecan shakers. We would like workers to have a good mechanical understanding of how tractors run. Workers are expected to be able to service the equipment they operate and be able to attempt to help trouble shoot equipment break downs and complete routine maintenance and repairs on equipment. Employees will need to assist with all aspects of pecan farming including general farm duties. We need workers who are willing and able to work with others, respect others and efficiently complete given jobs/tasks. The employer, at its sole discretion, grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience.
